The monitor has been working fine! Seems to have good communication between the watch and chest strap. There is an almost inaudible tone that comes from the chest strap that correlates to that heart rate, which confirms that it is picking up the rate without looking at the watch during attachment. I find it comfortable and durable. I even wear the watch most days...![]() |
I've been looking for one of these for a long time, and after reading the reviews, decided to get this one. It was resonably priced and from a trusted known brand (Timex). I did read some of the reviews about how it sometimes took awhile to get the heart beat going and I did noticed that. This seemed to help the more I wet it down. It does have to be wet to work properly, but once I did that it has worked great. For the women out there wanting one of these, don't be afraid that it won't work well with an excersise bra. That was a concern of mine that the bra would impeade it, but so far it has not.
The watch part is nice, smaller then it looks in the picture yet easy to read. It lights up and is not too hard to set. The belt is comfortable and easy to adjust. I give it 4 stars only because of the time it takes to "get going". I do recommend this to anyone looking for a heart montior with out wanting to spend $70!! ![]() |
I bought this Heart Rate Monitor for P90X. After going through the first few workouts, I realized that I didn't really need a HRM for P90X, but that doesn't take away from this one. For the money, it's very good. It's only got basic features, but I put the chest band on and immediately started seeing my heart rate on the watch. It seems to be accurate, and the chest-band becomes comfortable very quickly. You can even jump around and run w/out worrying about it falling off. Overall, very impressive product considering it's about the cheapest HRM out there.![]() |
The timex watch feels cheap and the chest strap is not very comfortable. However this is my first heart rate monitor and it seems to work just fine. The replaceable battery is the reason I chose this watch over the entry level Polar watch. So far I have no reason to suspect that this was a bad purchase. I will update if I have any issues with this product. ![]() |
This is my first HRM. It is a very basic and simple device to use. The booklet included in the package was very helpful in understanding heart rate zones and how to use them in an exercise routine. I found the strap to be a little uncomfortable, but not so much that it can't be used. After using it a few times, however, I have discovered that I would like to have something a little more advanced. This is due more to the fact that I had no experience using an HRM before purchasing this one than to any deficiency in the product. Now that I understand how to use it while exercising, it would be nice to have a few more features, such as more memory and tracking information. If you want something that is simple, fairly rugged, and inexpensive, then this could be a good choice.![]() |
